Take Note

Orchestra programs are usually glossy, impressive-looking documents that create a sense of drama and prestige. This prestige, however, can sometimes make the organisation feel aloof and inaccessible.

So we created a different kind of program.

One that brought people in.

The Season was being launched at an in-person event, where the orchestra’s leadership would introduce the program to members. We knew that those in the audience would be trying hard to remember what they were being told, so gave them a hand by inviting them to, quite literally, take notes. This idea of taking notes spread to the rest of the brochure, turning it into a working notebook.

Throughout the year, audience members will be able to compare each concert they go to with the notes they took at the program launch. And they’ll have a simple, close-at-hand way to reflect on each performance.
Which is what orchestral music is all about, after all: how it makes us feel.
